The procedure involved in selling your property
When we act for a seller we will draft the contract of sale and provided this to the purchaser’s lawyer. Parslows Jersey lawyers will attend to any queries or issues raised by the purchaser lawyer. Where issues are identified we will liaise with you to find a solution. We will also liaise with your lender to ensure that charges over your property are cancelled and the loan is repaid.
Do I have to attend the Royal Court to pass contract?
If you are selling a freehold or flying freehold you will be required to attend Royal Court. Should you not be unable to attend it is possible for you to provide a power of attorney to us to attend on your behalf. When selling share transfer you will not need to attend the Royal Court.
In relation to freehold or flying freehold, the sale proceeds less bank reimbursement and costs, will be paid to you on the Tuesday immediately following the Friday sale. If you are selling a share transfer property you should receive sale proceeds on the same day (depending upon the time of sale).
“…you made it all a lot easier.”
I just wanted to say thank you, Lindsey, for dealing with everything so promptly to enable completion to take place. It certainly wasn’t an entirely smooth process but you made it all a lot easier.
“…by far the best”
I would like to thank your lawyers firm for all the services provided. I would also like to let you know I have used 3 to 4 lawyers firm in the island and yours is by far the best.
