Registering a Will of real estate (Immovable Property)

Once someone dies who owns Jersey real estate (immovable estate), the deceased’s Will will need to be registered with the Jersey Public Registry to act as the conveyance of title.

What is required to register a Will of real estate (Immovable Property)

  • The deceased person’s original Will of real estate
  • A copy of the death certificate
  • Two valuations of the deceased’s real estate from independent estate agents
  • The correct stamp duty payable (which we will calculate for you once we have the valuations)
